THE ACTUAL FLIGHT: SIN-BKK

When you fly economy, you are made to wander the airport aimlessly, which in turn encourages you to buy more. When in Business, they have a lounge full of food and even more businessmen who try to talk to you when you are a lone female. That in turn makes you wander out and buy more stuff to forget what just happened. The Thai business lounge was nice and purple, but nothing to shout about. The food oddly reminded me of catered department lunches. Alcohol was plenty, but it was all DIY and you had to mix it yourself.

I decided to leave the lounge after filling up on sandwiches and boring tales of an old chap who clearly had too much to drink. While wandering around, I found Chinese Wine that cost the price of a new Chanel. This could be the new Cristal. I wonder how much this would cost at a club.

I finally boarded the plane and gave myself a pat on the back for not buying anything for myself at the airport. Service was good and they took my coat and offered me a drink right off the bat. The amenities were all there, proper earphones, reclinable clam shell chair and non-intrusive fellow passenger.

Service commenced about 30 minutes into the flight and the menus were given out.

The starters were served and the stewardess was efficient in offering bread once I had finished mine.

Squid ink pasta never looks appetizing, but it did taste quite good. They managed to get it al-dente so I was pleased.

Last was my least favourite dish. It was supposed to be a jelly made from a herb, but all it tasted like was agar agar.

I spent the flight watching the New Normal. Is anyone else as bummed as I am that the show is cancelled?

I am not sure what my fellow passengers thought of me and my camera, but it was probably my last business class trip for a while.
