Movin' Out

Sorry for the complete lack of updates. I, or more specifically Mommy, managed to pack my entire life into a single luggage and I flew to London. Unfortunately, silly me who was in charge of only packing the laptop bag, managed to forget to bring the cable for the camera so all my photos are there. In replacement, I give you half blurry photos courtesy of Apple. I am obviously still incapable of having my umbilical cord cut and surviving on my own.

Courtesy of Shawn and his wonderful world of airmiles, I was able to take a business class flight to London. Below is a generic picture of the business class lounge. With my immense experience of visiting business class lounges (I have a grand total of 2 - both on the same flight), it appears that they all look rather similar.

Contrary to popular belief, life as a tai-tai ain't all it is cut out to be. There appears to be a lot of lifting and moving and cleaning even when you are moving to the apartment next door. This was how the  apartment looked after 2 days of cleaning.

You also learn things when you are moving like
1. Pillows actually have to be changed. Duvets as well. You can't just chuck them in the washing machine and hope for the best.
2. The sink needs to be cleaned with a special agent to make it shiny.
3. Ironing sucks ass when your mom isn't helping you with it.
4. Furniture is motherf--kin expensive in the UK.
5. So are pillow cases, and pillows etc.
6. You should have bought pillow cases and all the above in good ol' Singapore. (Refer to point 1,4,5)

In essence, it sucks when you don't have your parents to do all of those for you. One plus point of technology is that you can always whatsapp them to get the answers. I wonder how cave people used to survive. Then again, they didn't have first world problems like pillow and furniture.

One thing that always cheer me up is Ben's cookies. For those of you who have never tried this in London, you are missing out. BEST COOKIES EVER. They are crispy on the edge and gooey in the centre. Tip when you order is to always ask for the warm ones. They are a chain so they are pretty easy to find. Interesting fact: the logo was created by Quentin Blake.

Ben's Cookies

I promise to get better pictures soon.
